Don’t Use The Same Password Everywhere For The Umpteenth Time

February 27, 2017 by Rob

Why?

Because a service called Clouldflare behind some very popular sites and many, many others leaked username and password data onto the web. That’s a very plain explanation. #cloudbleed

“Between 2016-09-22 – 2017-02-18 session tokens, passwords, private messages, API keys, and other sensitive data were leaked by Cloudflare to random requesters. Data was cached by search engines, and may have been collected by random adversaries over the past few months.” That’s a little more complex explanation.

For the very complex explanation, read here: https://github.com/pirate/sites-using-cloudflare

For the official explanation, read here: https://blog.cloudflare.com/incident-report-on-memory-leak-caused-by-cloudflare-parser-bug/

This isn’t new advice.

We highly recommend a password service like 1password. 1password and save random & different passwords for all sites you visit. It can also help you login on any browser, windows or mac or iPhone or Android.

We’ve been using it for years without issue & never forgetting a password.
