I said in my original email, “…I know my community, my circle of influence, can do more.”
And you have.
In under 7 days, we have put together over $1,000.
My Grandma Betty – yes, my grandma was a Betty – she was always proud of the company I keep. Right now, I am too. You’ve blown me away with your generosity and willingness to contribute.
“I’ll throw in ten bucks if it helps.”
A wonderful friend of mine said this in a message to me yesterday. As if that’s insignificant. If you’re casually thinking same, you couldn’t be more wrong.
It’s all that’s being asked. It will mean the world to Eve.
Throwing in ten bucks is an incredible contribution.
As they say, “It’s the Little Things In Life.” Whether it’s opening a door, a smile to a stranger, a random act of kindness of any sort. That sh~stuff matters.
To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
// Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882) American Essayist & Poet

Just a quick update!
Friday night we surprised Eve at an amazing dinner at Fang Restaurant and went out on the town to celebrate the rest of the night. More to come from both Eve and I, but thank you all so much. I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am and how inspired Eve is with this gift.
More to come this weekend…
